Hike the Volcano

Your guide will pick you up at 8am from the hotel with a larger group and drive you up the mountain to the trailhead. The views of this recently active volcano are dramatic. The ground continues to be resurfaced by lava flows. We walk the rim of the caldera along its East side of the volcano before trekking through the lava fields. You may run into tortoises along the trail as you walk through all the bumps and curves where molten lava has shaped the earth. The hike is not steep but does require energy to get there and back. The dry environment you encounter is like no other and will provide you with an aray of extremely colorful vistas.
